Pilates reformer is a low-impact, whole-body workout that focuses on strengthening the core and improving body alignment. The reformer apparatus enables a wide range of movements organized to achieve postural control and balance. Our certified reformer instructors guide you through controlled movement and muscle activations that will make it more comfortable for you to walk, sit, and bend and lead to improvement in overall health. We offer open, beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes, as well as Pilates for injury rehabilitation.
Like many New Yorkers, over the past year we found pleasure and hope in a newfound pastime of birdwatching. After learning about the unique characteristics of hummingbirds, we were inspired to use this glorious creature as a metaphor for our Pilates studio. Masters of movement and agility, these little, jewel-colored marvels are unequaled in their ability to fly backward and forward and to hover using their signature rapidly-fluttering wings. Join us as we pursue goals of strengthening body and mind in celebration of the joy of being.
Our instructors draw on a variety of fitness- and dance-related education and experience to motivate clients to reach their fitness goals. Our small group sizes of up to five clients per session enable a higher level of attention to individual ability and form. All our instructors are certified in Pilates reformer apparatus training and modifications. They are deeply gratified by helping clients achieve a greater sense of well-being through core strengthening and improved body alignment for a variety of client needs, including rehabilitation.
